Born in Lima, Peru, Juan studied drawing with the Museo Del Arte de Lima (MALI) and Japanese character design with the Sugoi Revista. In 1999, he arrived in New York City where he earned a B.A. in Studio Art in 2007 from Queens College and an M.A. in 2010 from Brooklyn College in Painting. He taught Japanese character design for the Snug Harbor Cultural Center in Staten Island and began tattooing in 2014. His interests include drawing character designs, Japanese esthetics, and the fundamentals of tattooing with a modern twist.

“I can’t see myself doing anything else… I say this because I’ve done so many other jobs, but tattooing is different. It’s not a job.”
